Amyl Bacteriological Peptone has been developed for use in a wide range of applications for microbiological culture media, including food and dairy food testing, water and environmental testing and in media for the detection of pathogenic bacteria in disease processes.
This highly nutritious, multi purpose peptone mix has been prepared by pancreatic and papaic enzymic digestion of a range of selected animal proteins. The resulting product contains a broad spectrum of peptides of varying molecular weights, ensuring that the nutritional requirements of a wide range of micro-organisms have been catered for in order to provide the highest achievable growth and recovery rates of individual organisms from specific sources of contamination or infection.
Because Amyl Bacteriological Peptone has a high nitrogen content and excellent amino acid balance, the product is incorporated into many types of culture media used in diagnostic and research medical and veterinary microbiology and is ideally suited for many industrial applications, including vaccine production, the manufacture of fermentation by-products and the manufacture of antibiotics.
