Amyl Clostridium difficile Selective Supplement, SP 406, is based on the formulation of George et al1, who developed Cycloserine Cefoxitin Fructose Agar (CCFA) as a modification of the egg yolk agar of McClung and Toabe2 for the selective isolation of Clostridium difficile from faecal specimens of patients with Antibiotic Associated Colitis (AAC) a form of Pseudomembranous colitis (PMC).
