Description
LATA is a synthetic medium using Calcium Lactate as the sole source of fermentable carbohydrate and sodium acetate as a source of carbon, together with ammonium sulphate as the nitrogen source, and mineral salts as essential elements for growth. The presence of the reducing agent, sodium thioglycollate maintains the anaerobic conditions required for growth of clostridia. LATA is designed to utilise the unique lactate fermenting characteristic of Cl tyrobutyricum as confirmation of it’s identity.
Store the dehydrated medium below 25°C away from strong light and use before expiry date. Tighten cap after each usage.
