LETHEEN AGAR

Used to test the antimicrobial action of quaternary ammonium compounds

Product Code: AM88 Categories: , ,

Description

Letheen Agar was first described by Weber and Black. They utilised the standard Nutrient Agar formulation of the American Public Health Association and modified it to contain lecithin and polysorbate 80, as a result of their investigations into the relative efficiencies of inhibitors for quaternary ammonium compounds. Their results gave rise to the development of a laboratory method suitable for the analysis of the performance of quaternary ammonium compounds and other germicides considered for the sanitation of food utensils.
