Description

Amyl Milk Agar, AM 748, is formulated according to specifications recommended by EUROGLACE (European Ice Cream Industries) submitted to the EEC for the examination of ice cream1. The medium is recommended for use for performing the plate count procedure on milks, rinsing waters, milk products and ice creams. Nutritional requirements for bacterial growth include peptone as a source of nitrogen, yeast extract for the provision of vitamins, co-enzymes and other growth factors together with powdered milk as a source of specific proteins and growth factors to ensure the growth of organisms requiring these products for their metabolism.
