Description
Amyl Tryptose, RM 332, is composed of a mixture of carefully controlled enzymatic digests of proteinaceous substrates which yield superior nutritional characteristics for the culture of delicate and/or fastidious organisms. The cleavage of the proteins by the enzymatic process is such that higher molecular weight peptides (proteoses or polypeptides) are obtained and, when incorporated into an agar medium with dextrose and sodium chloride, provides a particularly enriched substrate for the cultivation of more fastidious and nutritionally demanding organisms such asmeningococci, pneumococci and Brucella sp.
