YEAST GLUCOSE CHLORAMPHENICOL AGAR (YGC)

Used for the isolation and enumeration of yeasts and moulds in milk products

Description

Amyl YGC Medium, AM228, is a selective medium used for the isolation and enumeration of yeasts and moulds in dairy products. The formulation complies with the recommendations of The International Dairy Federation1 and the International Standards Organisation (ISO)2. Nutrition is provided by glucose (carbohydrate) and yeast extract (vitamins, growth factors, nitrogen). Selectivity is attained with chloramphenicol at a level of 100 mgm/litre.

Amyl YGC Medium, AM228 is available in 100g, 500g containers and in bulk packs. Store the dehydrated medium in a cool place (<25°C) and use prior to the expiry date. Ensure that the closure is tightened after each use.
