Description
Amyl 3.5 % Potassium Tellurite Supplement, SP 459, and 1% Potassium Tellurite, SP 459/1 are ready to use, filter sterilised, liquid supplement for incorporation into culture media requiring the addition of Potassium Tellurite, e.g. Amyl Baird-Parker Agar, AM 14, Amyl Vogel-Johnson Agar, AM 213, Amyl Vogel-Johnson Agar with Pyruvate, AM 763, and Giolitti-Cantoni Broth, AM 64. The 3.5% solution can also be employed for the preparation of McLeods or Hoyle’s Tellurite Blood Agar used for the isolation and provisional identification of Corynebacterium diphtheriae from clinical cases of diphtheria.
