Description
Amyl Bile Salts No.3, RM 256, is a more refined version of Amyl Bile Salts, RM 255, designed for use at lower concentrations without compromising selectivity. Unwanted precipitation around colonies is eliminated and a clearer medium facilitates the differentiation of lactose fermenting and non-lactose fermenting enteric organisms.
The product is particularly effective when incorporated into specific products such as Amyl MacConkey Agar No.3, AM 94 and Violet Red Bile Agar, AM 210 at a level of 0.15%, less than one third of the concentration of Bile Salts that is normally employed.
Appearance:
Amyl Bile Salts No.3 is readily soluble in water and produces a clear, slightly yellowish solution with a neutral pH, ready for addition into culture media without the need for further pH adjustment.
