Description
Amyl Urea Broth Base, AM 206, and Urea Agar Base, AM 208, are based on the formulations of Christensenand Maslin for the detection of urease producing Enterobacteriaceae and other organisms. The complete medium contains peptones as a nitrogen source, glucose as a source of carbohydrate, sodium chloride to maintain osmotic equilibrium, a phosphate buffering system and phenol red as an acid-base indicator.
