Description
Amyl Campylobacter Selective Supplement, SP 400, is formulated according to the method of Butzler et al, who incorporated a combination of antimicrobials designed to provide greater selectivity by inhibiting a wider range of normal commensals, including Pseudomanas sp., thereby obviating the need for selective incubation at 42 degrees and enabling the isolation of non-thermophilic campylobacters such as C. fetus by incubation at 35-37 degrees.
A review of the toxonomy of ther Genus Campylobacter undertaken by Penner, provides current dara on the various species and sub-species contained within the genus.
