Recommended for the presumptive detection of coliforms in water, milk and milk products. Conforms with AS 1095.3A – 1976 and AS 1766.5 – 1982.
MacConkey Broth (Purple) is used to indicate the presumptive presence of coliform bacteria in water, milk and foods.
Neutral Red indicator is replaced by the less inhibitory Bromocresol Purple. Bile salts inhibits the growth of gram positive organisms. Colour shift to yellow indicates acid production denoting the presence of gram negative lactose-fermenting organisms.
