Amyl Cefixime Supplement, SP 399, is supplied as a lyophilised antibiotic supplement for addition to Sorbitol MacConkey Agar (SMAC – Amyl AM 128) for the selective isolation of VT+E.coli O157 (VTEC) from food and clinical materials. The active component of SP 399 is Cefixime, an oral, third generation cephalosporin antimicrobial that is active against most members of the Genus Enterobacteriaceae.
