Description
Amyl Listeria Selective Medium ,AM 86, (Oxford formulation) is based on the formulation described by Curtis et al1 and is recommended for the detection of Listeria monocytogenes from clinical and food sources. The medium incorporates a number of selective inhibitory agents: lithium chloride, acriflavine, cycloheximide, colistin sulphate, cefotetan and fosfomycin. Aesculin and ferrous iron provide an indicator system to detect the presence of L. monocytogenes.
