Amyl Sabouraud D medium, AM 215, is a modification of Emmons formulation of Sabouraud’s Agar with the addition of antimicrobial agents. The medium is designed specifically for the isolation and cultivation of dermatophytic fungi, while the majority of bacteria, filamentous fungi and some yeasts are inhibited. Candida albicans is not inhibited on this medium.
