Description
Amyl Todd-Hewitt Broth, AM188, is an excellent all-purpose medium which, due to it’s dextrose component , stimulates the production of soluble haemolysins from actively growing beta haemolytic streptococci. Inactivation of the formed haemolysins by acid products of dextrose fermentation is prevented by a sodium bicarbonate/disodium phosphate buffering system. The medium is suitable for a wide range of purposes imcluding the cultivation of streptococci for serological grouping purposes and for the growth of more fastidious micro-organisms.
